For the past several years, COVESA’s presence at the annual AutoTech conference has continued to grow, making a strong impression on attendees both during the event and at the co-located networking and showcase reception. This year’s AutoTech 2026 conference, held June 3–4 in Novi, Michigan, delivered several noteworthy highlights.

The standout achievement was the COVESA Networking and Showcase Event held at The Hub Stadium following the first day of the conference. More than 820 attendees joined the event, including AutoTech participants as well as a growing number of OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and automotive industry professionals from across the Detroit area.

Attendees praised the valuable networking opportunities, with meaningful business discussions and new connections taking place throughout the three-hour event. Participating organizations showcasing their products and services also highlighted the event’s value, citing new contacts, productive conversations, and potential business opportunities generated during the evening. Another highlight was COVESA’s presence on the AutoTech show floor, featuring a booth focused on the work of the COVESA AI Expert Group. The booth generated significant interest in COVESA’s efforts to apply artificial intelligence to vehicle software development processes. Special thanks to Josef Mleziva and Bogdan Rocotea of Smart Engineering, along with AI Expert Group Co-Leader Yansong Chen of Ropix, who engaged with attendees, answered questions, and shared the group’s latest progress and initiatives.

A final highlight was the COVESA Cybersecurity Group meet-up held during AutoTech on June 3. Participants continued advancing the group’s action plan to strengthen security parameters and metadata at the signal level within the COVESA VSS/VDM standard. The discussion brought together perspectives from Stellantis, GlobalPlatform, IBM, VxLabs, Green Hills Software, Red Balloon Security, RTI, and other industry stakeholders.

COVESA extends its sincere appreciation to the many showcase sponsors and participating organizations whose support contributed to the event’s success.

Looking Ahead: COVESA Fall Events

Building on the momentum from AutoTech 2026, COVESA will offer two opportunities this fall for organizations to expand their visibility, showcase their products and services, and connect with key industry stakeholders.

The first opportunity will take place September 9–11, 2026, at Automotive World 2026 in Tokyo, where COVESA will host a member pavilion on the exhibition floor. The pavilion features 18 kiosks available to members at significantly reduced rates compared to standard exhibitor pricing, providing a cost-effective way to engage with the large audience attending the event. In addition, COVESA will expand its presence in the Japanese market through a keynote presentation, hosted panel discussion, introductory sessions, and technical presentations covering topics including VSS, VISS, VDM, CDSP, and the Capabilities-Driven Vehicle.

Later in the fall, COVESA will return to Novi, Michigan, for its Fall All Member Meeting on October 28–29, 2026. The two-day event will once again feature a networking reception and showcase on the evening of October 28, providing valuable opportunities for collaboration, networking, and industry engagement.

Organizations interested in sponsorship or showcasing at either event are encouraged to contact Mike Nunnery for additional information.
