COVESA Announces All Member Meeting Keynote by Matt Jones

Attendees of the upcoming COVESA All Member Meeting in Ann Arbor, Michigan, 22-23 October, will enjoy hearing from Matt Jones, Executive Director of Technology Platforms, Ford Motor Company. Matt oversees the Connected Vehicle Software, Research & Advanced Engineering, Global Technology Strategy, and Technology Platform Program teams at Ford.
Matt’s keynote, entitled “Software at the Wheel: Driving the Future of Connected Software,” will be presented as a kickoff to the event’s business track at roughly 9:30 am on Wednesday (22nd).
Synopsis of Presentation
As the automotive industry undergoes its most profound transformation in over a century, software has moved from a supporting role to the driver’s seat. Matt Jones, Executive Director of Technology Platforms at Ford Motor Company, will share a forward-looking perspective on how software is reshaping the future of mobility.
From seamless connectivity that links vehicles to digital ecosystems, to the critical role of software in enabling electrification at scale, to meeting rapidly evolving customer expectations for personalization, convenience, and continuous improvement—this session will explore the opportunities and challenges facing automakers today.
Drawing on lessons from Ford’s journey, Matt will outline how the industry must embrace open collaboration, flexible platforms, and new business models to thrive in a software-defined, customer-centric world. The discussion will highlight where automakers, suppliers, and technology partners must come together to deliver safe, sustainable, and delightful experiences for the drivers of tomorrow.
The COVESA event will be held at the Sheraton Detroit Ann Arbor hotel in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The two-day program featuring business and technical content will begin at 9:00 am on 22 October and continue through the end of the afternoon on the 23rd. The COVESA Showcase and Reception will close the day on Wednesday evening. Registration is open, and both COVESA members and non-members (for a small fee) are welcome to participate.
