The global COVESA community, along with many guests, gathered in Berlin on 14–15 May for the 2025 Spring All Member Meeting (AMM). The event drew more than 200 participants from OEMs, Tier 1 Suppliers, Technology Providers, Analysts, and other industry members (see pictures)!
We are very grateful to the awesome list of sponsors for helping make the event such a success:

AMM Session Highlights
The business track at the 2025 COVESA Spring AMM featured presentations on agentic AI, the role of AI in automotive, and Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV), including insights from BMW, Ford, Continental, and Cosworth. Key topics also included Automotive AOSP, the EU Data Act, and software production challenges for connected vehicles, along with additional discussions on fleet management, Data Privacy, Vehicle Commerce, and Vehicle Experience.
Meanwhile, the technical tracks highlighted advancements across several initiatives, including the Data Expert Group, Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS), AOSP App Framework, IFEX, Central Data Server Playground (CDSP), and the Commercial Vehicle Expert Group. In keeping with previous AMMs, these tracks included focused working sessions on evolving VSS to a Vehicle Data Model, improving the modeling language and flexibility while leveraging a larger open source community, while keeping VSS fully intact for current and future adopters. AOSP working sessions focused on exposing vehicle data consistently aligned with VSS, potential for building AppHost, Emulator, Push Notifications, and what’s next. In addition, there was an all-day AOSP dev workshop that focused on deploying apps to actual vehicles, with BMW providing a test vehicle.
In case you missed it, this event had nearly 50 sessions ranging from business topics like technology ecosystems and why SDV is a global opportunity to a long list of technical topics. Slide decks used for many of these sessions can be found on the Wiki.
COVESA Showcase & Awards
On Wednesday evening, attendees enjoyed the popular COVESA AMM Showcase and Reception, where over 25 companies demonstrated their products and shared their services.

This vibrant environment sets the stage for one of the highlights of the AMM — the COVESA Adopter & Contributor Awards. Introduced during the Spring 2024 AMM in Gothenburg, these awards recognize organizations that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, adoption, and contribution to COVESA technologies and the community.
Winners are handpicked by the COVESA Board and Technical Steering Team members during live showcase visits. This year’s winners are:
- Central Data Service Playground (CDSP) project received recognition for its semantic artificial intelligence proof of concept.
- Elektrobit was recognized for its Virtual IVI Development for Android™, which enables a hardware-agnostic, end-to-end development of Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Android Automotive OS initiatives. Elektrobit’s solution integrates the COVESA Vehicle Signal Specification (VSS).
- Sonatus was recognized for its adoption of and contribution to the VSS specification. This award underscores Sonatus’ commitment to advancing open standards and accelerating innovation in connected vehicles.
Read more about the winners in our blog post, and congratulations once again to our COVESA Adopter & Contributor Award winners!
Overall, the COVESA Spring AMM was a tremendous success, and thank you to all who attended. Please save the date for our Fall All Member Meeting on 22–23 October in Ann Arbor, Michigan!
