What does your company do? What services or products do you provide?
AiDEN Auto is a privacy-first, no-code app framework. With AiDEN, any third party can create in-vehicle app experiences without having to write a single line of code. It’s privacy first because AiDEN enforces a GDPR-compliant consent management framework so that people always are in complete control over their data in a fully transparent way.
Fundamentally, we provide the missing piece so that cars can finally connect with the outside world, and all the wonderful services that are built by many of COVESA’s members can be deployed at large scale with any OEM.
Why did you join COVESA and how long has your company been a member?
I’ve been part of COVESA ever since the start and was even part of its former incarnation as GENIVI through my former employers (Volvo Cars and Mitsubishi Electric), so I knew that it was a great place to meet all the right people in the connected vehicle space. It’s also the obvious place to get involved to engage with the community, and try to push the needle with your own contributions. As AiDEN we joined basically as soon as we started the company back in 2021.
What benefits does your participation in COVESA bring to your company and business?
COVESA has provided invaluable networking and presentation opportunities and the opportunities to engage and work together with other members to further advance connected technologies and standards. Out of all the things COVESA does, I actually think the most important thing might be how COVESA is connecting all the people who are trying to connect vehicles.
Which COVESA collaborative project(s) or Birds of a Feather (BoF) is your company engaged in, and why is that beneficial to your business?
VISSr: The project was the integration of the AiDEN platform and VISSr through WebSocket. In phase one, AiDEN was acting as ECF (External Consent Framework). In phase two, AiDEN was acting as Client (collecting data from VISSr). The component connection can be shown as in Consent Support: https://covesa.github.io/vissr/server/access-control-servers/#consent-support.
